Vintage Chanel Medium Double Flap Bag Black Quilted Leather with 24k Gold Plated Hardware

An iconic vintage Chanel Medium Double Flap in black quilted lambskin, finished with 24k gold plated hardware and the signature interlocking CC turn lock.

Dating from 2002–2003, as indicated by the original serial sticker, this is one of Chanel’s most recognisable silhouettes in the highly sought after medium size. Crafted from soft black lambskin with classic diamond quilting, leather woven chain straps and warm gold hardware.

The Medium Double Flap remains one of Chanel’s most collectible bags. A new Chanel Medium Classic Flap currently retails for £9,090 in the UK, making earlier vintage examples increasingly desirable. Chanel has implemented significant price increases over the past decade and the Classic Flap has historically demonstrated particularly strong value retention and long term price appreciation.

This 2002–2003 example also features Chanel’s 24k gold plated hardware, a detail associated with earlier Chanel bags and no longer used on contemporary Classic Flaps. It offers the opportunity to own the iconic silhouette, with the character and craftsmanship of an earlier piece, at a fraction of today’s retail price.

The leather woven chain can be worn doubled on the shoulder with a 24cm drop or extended to a 43cm drop to wear longer on the shoulder or across the body.

Condition
Good vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age and use. The lambskin has softened over time with creasing, surface wear and some loss of structure, particularly around the sides and back. There is visible wear and marking beneath the outer flap, as photographed. The 24k gold plated hardware remains beautifully bright. Original serial sticker is present.
