These pieces may be coated with a layer of gold-coloured plating or undergo other treatments to improve their durability and appearance, but they are not made from solid gold.
The hardware is designed to be hard-wearing and durable, but over time it may show signs of wear, such as scratches or fading, which would not be the case if it were made from solid gold.
That said, some limited-edition Louis Vuitton pieces may feature special materials, but these are exceptions rather than the rule.
