Fendi’s iconic Zucca canvas is a brand hallmark - instantly recognisable, deeply collectible, and surprisingly resilient. But like any pre-owned treasure, it deserves a little TLC to keep it looking its best. Whether you're styling it daily or storing it carefully between wears, caring for the canvas will help preserve its charm for years to come.
Fendi’s Zucca fabric is typically made from a coated canvas - a durable blend of cotton or polyester treated with a protective finish. This makes it more resistant to scuffs and surface marks than traditional uncoated textiles, but it’s still important to be gentle. We recommend avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive cloths. Instead, use a soft, damp cloth (preferably lint-free) to gently wipe the surface if dust or light marks appear. For more stubborn spots, a drop of mild, non-coloured soap diluted in lukewarm water can be used- just be sure to test a discreet area first, and never saturate the fabric.
Direct heat, prolonged sunlight and excessive moisture are all to be avoided. These elements can cause fading, distortion or stiffness over time. If your Zucca bag gets wet, blot gently with a clean, dry cloth and allow it to air-dry naturally, away from radiators or sunlight.
When storing, stuff the bag with tissue or a soft dust cloth to maintain its shape, and keep it in a breathable dust bag to protect from dust and light exposure (each bag we sell comes with either its original dust bag or a Hosta branded dust bag). Avoid stacking it beneath other bags, especially heavier leather pieces.
With the right care, your Fendi Zucca will only get better with age - developing that lived-in patina we love so much at The Hosta.
